The development of the Pulo® & Pulo® Sleep System™

Dear Customer,

After years of running two successful clinics in Holland, specializing in the treatment of acute and chronic back, neck and head pains, using advanced technology and high-powered magnetic and electro-magnetic equipment, I found myself becoming sadly disillusioned by the limited amount of post-therapy care products available in the market place: Particularly in the bed and bedding sector.

It seemed almost redundantcorrecting patients' orthopaedic disorders when they had nothing at home capable of maintaining and substantiating the beneficial effects of my treatment.

It is a known fact that the body carries out major repair work during the sleeping hours and lack of sleep prevents the body from rebuilding, rejuvenating, repairing and restoring its cells.

A bad night's sleep on a non-supportive mattress or pillow could actually ruin my previously done good work, so this clearly had to be removed from the patient's recovery equation.

I used to advise patients to go out and buy therapeutic and orthopaedic pillows and mattresses from a certain leading or lesser known manufacturer but then to my dismay, I would be bombarded with criticisms after their use. I was told that they were often too expensive, too hard, or too uncompromising or too hot and sticky or too uncomfortable, ineffective or inappropriate or, most importantly, too unsupportive.

Tired of daily disasters and moans and groans caused by this inadequate variety of so-called health beneficial pillows and mattresses, I decided to investigate the reasons for complaint in order to see for myself if they were well founded and if they were, try to find a way of correcting them.

I was amazed at what I discovered: My patients were unfortunately absolutely right in a majority of their findings. Not only were most products incredibly over-priced, they were unbelievably over valued. In fact many were completely useless.

It was obvious manufacturers had failed to appreciate that everybody is different in weight, size and sleeping profile. How was it possible that a single pillow with only one or two sleeping positions could suit everyone?

Different weights needed different support and specific body disorders needed specific cushioning or stability.

I was on a mission: To design and make from scratch the ultimate sleeping solution. The Pulo® Sleep System™ was born.

Nothing was going to stop me and with the assistance of selected patients, who had a variety of pertinent disorders and who were also prepared to sign confidentiality agreements to keep my ideas and innovative creations away from the public domain, tests and trials began in earnest and secrecy.

It took months to find suitable materials and years to create final products. In the end, I do not know who was the most excited with the brilliant results, me, or my seemingly always patient patients.

I would like to thank them all and I only hope you will be as delighted as we were and continually are, with our creative, effective and imaginative designs.

Progress always means other materials will become more readily available to us innovators: These might be more user-friendly or greener or more applicable or more beneficial or less expensive, or more easily adaptable. If so, and especially since our company is independent with no allegiance to any particular manufacturer or supplier, we will experiment with any interesting, appropriate and innovative new components so as to continually investigate their suitability for our products.

This will be, as always, to help provide relaxation, comfort and pain relief and the ultimate sleeping solutions for you the end-users & not just for making profit.
